About
After 20 years of experience working with children and families in education, I realized my greatest joy came from helping others. I returned to the University of Toronto to complete a BSc.(Hons) in Mental Health and an MEd. in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have taken additional training in areas including anxiety, trauma, ACT, play therapy, and self-harm. My approach is: - Client-centred - Collaborative - Trauma-informed & responsive - Feminist - Anti-oppressive - Culturally-aware I strive to foster a safe, non-judgmental space for clients of all genders, orientations, and family structures. As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach using techniques from: - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - Narrative Therapy - Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) - Attachment-Based Therapy - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - Psychodynamic Therapy - Play Therapy - Sand Tray Therapy If you’re not sure what type of therapy might work for you, contact me and we can talk through the differences. Proudly part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also enjoy discovering independent coffee shops with my mini dachshund, eating sushi, and gentle yoga.
